We’ve championed Portugal’s rich, native reds for years. Now, we’re excited to bring you Valoroso, a luxurious Cabernet. The world’s (and our customers’) most-loved red reaches delicious levels of depth and complexity in the brilliant Portuguese sunshine, and we can’t wait for you to taste it…

Valoroso means ‘valiant’—and this first-class Cab pays tribute to the ‘Comendadora’ title (aka ‘knighthood’) that fourth-generation proprietor Leonor Freitas (below) was awarded by the Portuguese government for service to the wine industry. Her family’s estate was founded by Deonilde Freitas in 1920, and today its 210 hectares of vineyards produce some of the country’s finest wines. Look no further than this gorgeous example, crafted by Jaime Quendera, the man behind the ‘Best Red Wine in the World’ (Vinalies Internationales, 2008).

Boasting a long history of acclaim, Valoroso is smooth, round and well balanced. Its ripe blackberry, plum and spice flavors make it a tasty match for beef, pork or other hearty meat dishes.
